    This movie will be enjoyed by a fairly wide age group. Intelligent enough to hold the interest of all.

    Under rated Spielberg/ Abrams effort. Kyle Chandler, Bruce Greenwood, and Elle Fanning lead the cast with a less known but very able supporting group. A believable group of kids are making their own Super 8 movie (set in the 1980's). Movie also includes the best train wreck EVER filmed. Hope you have a good sound system, it helps.

    An instant classic! A movie for the ages!

    Where to begin? I admit I expected this movie to be just another action movie with no plot, but man was I wrong. Don't get me wrong, Super 8 defiantly has action, with the unbelievably epic train crash sequence which you MUST watch with a surround sound system, but this movie also has a plot to spare. It has characters that are fleshed out and that you truly care about, and a sweet and tender first love story. Some of the deleted scenes focusing on Joe and Alice (Elle Fanning) I felt would have fit in nicely with the movie, but unfortunately JJ thought not. Joel Courtney in his first performance is perfect as the heartbroken and humble Joe, and his acting is top notch and so much better than the spoiled disney actors of today.     The cast in this film really did a fantastic job!

    I myself have a fairly large blu ray collection consisting of around 80 disc. I favor sci-fi and medieval but my 8 year old son loves animation movies so i have many of them as well. This was a great film that kept me on my toes from start to finish. The overall plot of the story actually tied into the entire movie. The picture quality was great as well. I watch my films in movie mode and i calibrated my hdtv as well.
