About this product

Product Information

Hang on - your network will soar when it's hooked up to NETGEAR's FS605! This powerful plug-and-play switch connects at 10 or 100 Mbps and makes it easy to link as many as five computers or peripherals to your Ethernet network. You'll experience maximum performance for 10 or 100 Mbps devices with five ports that automatically sense the correct speed while Auto Uplink on the ports adjusts for the different types of Ethernet cables. The FS605's sleek case has lights on the front for easy monitoring. Installation into your home network couldn't be simpler and, once powered on, it begins cool and silent operation - without an internal fan.

    Best choice for adding ports

A switcher is the best way to add ethernet ports for your devices. Unlike a hub or splitter, this is a smart switch that learns the demands of each port and divides the signal accordingly. I understand these switchers used to be expensive, but now the cost is almost as low as hubs. I have 2 of them.

  • Good, cheap switch from trusted brand

It does exactly what I wanted, letting me split my Internet connection to two computers. I just plugged the adapter and Ethernet wires in and it worked.

  • It works

I got this one in original box but don't know if it's opened or not. Couldn't tell. Anyway it looks brand new and works well when I put all cables and wire in place. Plus it's only half of the price in Bestbuy.

  • It gets the job done with no fuss.

I bought this switch as I only had one Ethernet jack available to me and my other switch was in use at that moment. This switch, like all, are a "connect and forget" type of deal, and I liked the very small size of the switch as it was easy to hide behind my setup.

  • A Nice Device

This little gem of a gadget is one of my best computer-related purchases ever. My laptops and desktop work best on ethernet and before this Netgear FS605 I used to have to unplug the ethernet cord from the back of my desktop to use it on my laptop. No more! This device takes one ethernet lead coming from your router and switches/boosts it into four extra ethernet inputs. If I wanted to I could run the desktop and two laptops off it at the same time (but have never tried it and probably won't).
