    Excellent Hard Drive

Yes, excellent hard drive. Battery on the way out, though. Doesn't hold its charge for more than a day. My other ipod - another ebay purchase, same model and vintage - goes for 3 days before needing a charge. Still, this one was a good buy for the money and I am pleased with all aspects of the purchase. Replacement batteries are still available and relatively cheap though I have yet to crack one of these babies open to perfom the required swap out surgery. These older ipods are becoming collectors items and I wouldn't be without one!

  • Top critical review

One of two iPods was faulty and was unable to properly load the music. A defective device.

One for two on this purchase, very disappointed but due to the price of buying second hand versus new, I have not been driven off eBay yet.

  • Apple IiPod 80GB Classic/Video

I bought this 80GB iPod as a refurbished unit and so far have no complaints other than a minor scratch on a corner of the screen; thankfully it is not very visible when viewing movies or videos. It works great but when I use the unit in the gym in a case with a plastic face, the scroll wheel is not easy to use. I think that scroll wheel could be enhanced to be more sensitive or add a setting to sensitize it when placed in a case. I have always purchased all the tech toys and have been putting this toy to the test. I have copied over 800 songs, multiple videos, pictures and movies; and have not reached 10GB of use yet. The sound generated is very good and the picture quality of movies on this unit is amazing. The unit looks good and feels sturdy although I am not too fond of the ...

  • Apple IPod classic, 80 gb

I really really did not want to get this mp3 player. I have-until I sell it on ebay-a Creative Zen Vision M which is great. However, my all family now has apple units and it makes it more difficult to move music back and forth and then we had incompatible portable sound docks. I also was finding it increasingly frustrating to remember to use two different systems and hardware-forgot to mention that I have the Ipod nano strictly for exercise. I hate a few things about the Ipod-I cannot move music from the handheld to the desktop/itunes library and when my system crashed, I was glad to have all my music on the Creative to easily load it again. I hate the "apple or nothing" proprietary way with apple. I wish it had a radio like the Creative does. I do like the clarity of the screen ...

  • Get a fair price and this is a good value!

iPod classic 80Gb is a great MP3 player with a decent balance of cost vs. capacity right now. The 30Gb versions have less than half the memory but you'll pay a lot more than half of what you would for the 80Gb. 160Gb versions still go for double the price, so why not just buy 2 80Gb iPods? The purpose of mine will be only for the car - I have an older audio deck that has iPod audio and video connectivity and it works well. I've had some intermittent issues with tracks stopping short and skipping to the next track, and it has frozen up once. It's easy to reset a frozen iPod without erasing its memory so it's not really a problem, just a concern. Since its new home is the glove compartment I didn't mind buying one all scratched up. It seems to have had a rough ...
