Cute Movie
This is a cute movie with the heart-beat of the past, simple and appropriate for all ages. Yes, it is slap-stick, but with some reality to the antics. It's always enjoyable to me to see Dick Van Dyke work his style of comedy into a character. It's so animated, spontaneous, and naturally flowing. This is what I love about his acting. if he is allowed to just do the part his way, it just flows right out of every part of his being! I can't even explain it. You just have to see him in action. Loads of Laffs
What a delightful Disney comedy from the 60's; Dick Van Dyke and the legendary Edward G.Robinson are superb working off each other ! Van Dyke is in his prime w he rubber faces and the rubbery walk and even the slap-sticky falling downs. It is a case of mistaken identity and "the gang who couldn't shoot straight." Dorothy Province is charming wher "go-go boots"and what a strong supporting cast of Henry Silva,Slim Pickens,Tony Bill,Joanna Moore and Mickey Shaughnessy. Movie Purchase review
I bought the movie because it's one of my favorite movies of all time and it is on dvd now. I am a huge Dick Van Dyke fan but am sad that he is not exactly young which means he won't be around probably much longer. If technology and today's world existed back then, the movie might have been a little better although it is really good the way it is. Never know because some of the movies today are either stupid or incomplete. Never A Dull Moment is a story about a struggling actor trying to make sure he lands a part in a movie and gets mistaken for a mob hitman and in the end this struggling actor must find a way to stay alive, not kill anyone, and keep his real identity a secret from the mob. Alot of movies can learn from this movie on how to mix a story, mystery, comedy, and romance, ... I bought the movie because it's one of my favorite movies of all time and it is on dvd now. Trip down memory lane not so funny
I remember loving this movie when I was 8 yrs old. When I saw it available on DVD cheap I couldn't resist. I should have. Dick Van Dyke plays an actor mistaken for a hit man. He spends most of the movie trying to get away from the hoods, sure they will discover he's the wrong guy at any moment. Edward G. Robinson plays the king pin. I think mostly it is just that having seen so many Dick Van Dyke movies and television and Disney hijinx movies, much of the action that was supposed to be funny was quite predictable. It might make a good family movie but I wouldn't expect today's 8 yr old kids to be amused by it.
