About this product

Product Information

Namco's surreal ball-rolling, junk-collecting series tumbles its way onto Xbox 360 with Beautiful Katamari. For its next-gen debut, Beautiful Katamari offers new levels and objectives to compete, a remixed soundtrack from classic J-Pop artists, and online support for up to four players. Once again the T-shaped character known as the Prince must roll objects into a sticky ball called a "katamari." The Prince will scoop up things great and small, from matchsticks to skyscrapers, while trying to complete such time-sensitive objectives as collecting specific item types or having the katamari reach a certain size. Multiplayer games include both cooperative and versus options, with the latter a race to see who can collect the most objects in the quickest time. The co-op mode involves working together to control the same katamari throughout 19 levels. Located within each vibrant stage are hidden presents to customize the princely protagonist, including the ability to unlock more than 50 of his kooky cousins. Xbox Live subscribers can not only compete against one another, but also view multiple leaderboards, track personal stats, and download additional Katamari content.

    Crazily addictive game

My sister used to play these and I had meant to give them a try years ago, but didn't get around to it till recently. Now I have to go around buying up the old ones! Guess that's both the good and the bad of discovering a franchise late. Nice thing is you have tons of content to check out. Not so nice thing is you have to hunt it all down and hook up old systems.

  • Good, as long as you know what you are getting.

This was a fun addictive game. The down side was that the whole thing just seemed like a small mini game, and you were just waiting for the real game to start. I did enjoy it and it was fun to see just how big you could make your katamari. There is a lot of downloadable content which I think is a cheap thing to do, but it will prolong the life of the game. This game is much better if you play against someone and challenge them. If you plan on playing straight through the game is extremely short, but if you go about finding all of the secret "presents" and "cousins" and try to best your scores you could play it for months.

  • KATAMARI - GREAT GAME

This game has simple rules....you roll a katamari ball around until you get bigger and bigger by gathering items. You have a set amount of time and a size and certain objects you are supposed to gather (actually quite a challenging game!). It's fun because there are so many levels and there is even Co-Op! (me and my friends played it together and loved it!). However, you can easily become frustrated when you must repeatedly play a level to meet the requirements for sizes and temperatures in the time allotted. But overall this is a game every gamer should own! :D

  • Love It or Hate It

Anyone who watches you play this game will be jumping for their turn to try. To make this review complete, I need to point out that this game isn't for everyone, but then again no game is. If you want to play a game with a storyline and strategic goals, this isn't the game for you. However, most other people love it. The game starts out with the giant King of the Cosmos telling you his story of how he messed up the stars in the galaxy. Your job is to roll around Earth and pick up earthly items to make katamaris, which turn into stars at the end of a level to put new stars in the sky. If you want a good idea of the game structure, imagine starting off in a giant world and you roll around a piece of chewed gum, picking up small items such as paperclips and coins. The ...

  • same old on HD

If you played the other katamari games before you may get quickly bored by this one. Unless you go online and find some vs action. The game is essentially the same with added goal of rolling up specific type objects. It is great to roll the ball around for fun for a while. Highly recommend this game for families. Also, for those who played FPS and RTS all the time, this can be a good refresher from the same shooting and micro-ing routines.
