    The main thing about this unit is that it changes the way you make rice, follow the directions and it works perfectly,started out trying to make rice the way we always did before, but it wasn't any better,but each time we started to follow the instructions as written you couldn't make rice any better, last night I haven't had any rice that was better, perfectly cooked,tender,not sticky,just the best

    Comparing to the previous model: * This one cooks faster. * More modes * The pan seem to be of better coating, outer side is coated as well, so less chance for staining tables/sinks. On the downside: * Liked the old spatula better * The old one required just one click to get going, this one - 2. * Click-beep can not be muted. * Ready beep can not be muted Overall, does the job, price is right, we're happy campers :-)

    This would be great if it were just a rice cooker, but it's so much more too. This is the best.
