    My favorite lens, I can create amazing photos with this

    I've been using my Tamron 180mm Macro for a few months now, and it's by far the lens I use the most. I love macro photography, especially insects, and the extra distance I can be from the subject thanks to having a 180mm helps a lot. The lovely background bokeh looks amazing at this focal length as well, because you're only seeing a small sliver of the scene. It does mean more distance from the flash (which I use most of the time) as well, even with the flash bracket I use, requiring a bit more flash and more diffusion, so there is a small drawback. The extra size/weight of a 180mm lens would also be a drawback for some. Personally, though, the pros outweigh the cons quite a bit. The Tamron specifically is a nicely sharp lens.     Tamron 180mm macro for Canon

    I researched macro lenses extensively and this lens came out on top even over Canon's own lenses.. This bears out having taken many great shots that are very sharp. I love this lens! The focal length is perfect since it gives me more working room so bees and butterflies are less likely to be scared away vs. a shorter macro lens. It also makes a good prime telephoto for the occasional hawk fly over while I'm shooting bugs, and a great lens for product photography. In just a few weeks I have some very nice bee and butterfly shots. This lens is fast and very sharp.

    Sharp Lens

    Great quality lens for the price, manual focus is smooth, you can really dial it in for tack sharp images. wouldn't recommend if looking for spot on auto focus

    Very Pleased with the Purchase

    Very pleased with this lens. I had lost interest in macro work and after shooting with it twice I am so impressed with the lens and quality. My only down comment is that like most reviews say it focuses slow which is normal for this lens.
