In diesem Bericht wurden die Risiken einer Restkontamination der Orte in Großbritannien bewertet, an denen in den letzten hundert Jahren chemische und biologische Waffen hergestellt, gelagert und entsorgt wurden. Im 20. Jahrhundert wurde eine Landfläche von mehr als 4.000 Quadratkilometern militärisch genutzt. Die Fotos von u¿ber 80 Testgeländen und Lagerstätten fu¿hren uns durch Dorset und Devon, in den Peak District, die Waldgebiete von Yorkshire und die Hochebene Salisbury Plain, an die Ku¿sten im Osten und Westen, nach Wales und bis in die abgelegenen schottischen Highlands und an die Irische See. Der romantische Mythos von der einfachen, unberu¿hrten Natur Großbritanniens wird von den tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten zerstört, die zu einem Bestandteil der Landschaft selbst geworden sind.
