    ThinkPad Pro Dock

    When it was offered as a new accessory to upscale ThinPads, this Pro Dock was the signature of a managerial office: efficient, functional and...expensive! Now as a lightly used but operational addition to my ageing- but otherwise we'll performing T540p- it is an excellent tool, helping me wrangle unruly câbles and connectors. Fits well with my elevated laptop stand too. Consider getting one your self for your older ThinkPads. Cheers!

    Performs as Required

    Works great. I can easily dock my Thinkpad T470 and keep all the cable running out the back when it is on my desk. Simple to remove to take on the road and reinstall when I return. I had to buy an HDMI to display adapter for my second monitor. And it didn't come with a key for the built-in locking mechanism - not a major flaw.

    Must have, but...

    Previous revision was a bit smoother 'finding' the sweet spot to dock.. there used to be an index device that could be adjusted to guide you into the dock pins.. not that's been replaced with a spring loaded guide that supposedly assists you to the correct position.. I for one find that cumbersome and difficult to hit the right position. Most folks use company laptops in this class, so bang bang shove shove slam slam is what I see around the office.. However, I run three monitors in two locations and two monitors in another.. these docks work flawlessly.

    Only good with one monitor

    The problem with this dock is if you are connecting to two monitors, only one of them can be digital, the other has to be analog(blurry). It’s not a problem if it’s used for just one monitor. If you have two monitors, get the thinkpad ultra dock, not the pro, you’ll be much happier.
