    It works, but has certain restriction that are not obvious, and which I haven't found described. It's not universal, it won't work in any USB-C port. Seems like it has to be an Apple USB-C port. In other ports, will get message to plug it into a Thunderbolt port even when it was in one.

    A bit pricey, but it works, which is the main thing.

    It works just fine. I think Apple rips people on items that they really have no competition on, but this is a good product and allows me to use my older peripherals with a brand new iMac, so... all is well. I recommend.

    Used with iMovie to control MiniDV camera with daisy-chained Firewire adaptor

    Does what it says on the box. I daisy-chained it with a firewire connector to connect an older MiniDV camera to my Macbook Pro and it works perfectly with iMovie for reading MiniDV cassettes.
