I give a 4 because this was the 3rd one i purchased and all 3 arrived damaged; not due to seller's packing but to way Kohler has packed them. Thank goodness damage on this was able to be repaired by a blacksmith. Seller worked with me for a partial refund as well. Disappointment was he didn't add additional packing as I requested nor extend an apology for not adding. Great communication & fast shipping. Good seller.

      Reliable?

      I received this inverter just after hurrican Florence came through Jacksonville, NC. While our power was still off and while on generator power, the inverter seemed to work and did run the sump pump when I turned off the generator to refuel. After power was restored a few days later we had another, shorter power outage. It did not switch on automatically. I went to check and had to press the button on the front for it to come on and operate the sump pump. (Good thing I checked.} It may be a fine unit, but since it has not worked one time, I question whether I can rely on it to keep my basement from flooding.

      works as described but we had one fail to a current surge, recommend installing a hi end surge protector in your power box on the circuit that supplies it. like Granger #1ECD1
