        As Good as it ever was.

        Marvelous story and marvelous acting from 2 Icons of Hollywood. No trick photography or digital, just real scenes and genuine great acting, Spencer Tracy was awesome as was Freddy Barthalomew. No Filty language, nudity or sex, just great acting. Back when Hollywood still made Great Movies.

        A Deep Friendship on the Seas

        One of the best performances that Spencer Tracy ever gave. The same goes for young Freddie Bartholomew. Nominated for four Academy Awards, it won the Best Actor Oscar for Tracy. With its rich and vibrant production, magnificent marine photography, admirable direction and performances, the film brings vividly to life every page of Rudyard Kipling's novel. It is the type of adventure dramat that audiences will not be able to forget, for its beauty makes a lasting impression. It is truly a classic for all times.

        Great Franz Waxman score, highly entertaining.

        I really enjoyed Freddie Bartholomew in this film. In fact, I felt it was his performance that elevated the film. Spencer Tracy was okay but worth an Oscar? Melvyn Douglas was perfectly cast, and Mickey Rooney always good.

        Classic movie lover

        I saw this movie on Turner Classics along time ago. They said Spencer Tracy didn't want to be this character because of the hair do in this movie. Comes out, one of his best. Loved watching it again. Good quality, Very satisfied. Thank you
