    About this product

    Product Information

Nintendo's grand, animal-filled sandbox franchise makes its way to Nintendo Wii gamers in this updated remake of one of the GameCube's most popular titles. "Animal Crossing: City Folk" retains all of the relaxed rural atmosphere of the original and adds a metropolitan twist, letting players take a bus to the new urban city area, where they can catch a show at the theatre or go shopping at fancy boutiques. As always, the series unfolds in real time, so gamers can go trick-or-treating at Halloween, build a snowman in the winter, and watch fireworks in the hot summer months. Relationship building remains a crucial part of the experience in this version, as players can befriend their neighbors by exchanging letters, gifts, and favors.

Animal Crossing - City Folk 2008 Review

Yes, this is an old game, but we had a copy and played it for many hours on our Wii. We recently bought a refurb Wii because we have so many Wii games and they are not backward compatible on the Wii U, so it was this or buy a Wii U, an gameverse we are not ready to put that much money into. The game works basically the same as the original Game Cube Animal Crossing except it has a city you can take the train too. You can buy stuff in the city but not a lot there moves your game forward if you are just trying to pay off the renovations on your house.

        Worked for 2 days

The disc got an error message after a couple days of play. We had to replace it with an unopened game. Spending 3 times the money.

      • Animal Crossing

Loved this game as a kid. Excited to pick it back up while practicing social distancing. It’s a very relaxed game and is family friendly. You can have multiple people in the same town, but you have to play at separate times. My siblings, parents and I used to compete to make the town better, make the most money and upgrade our houses. My mom had to set a timer for each of us to take turns playing because we all got so into it(including the adults). I would highly recommend this game!

      • Another huge franchise in the making

Animal Crossing follows up from its Game Cube and Nintendo DS installments with its best version to date, at the time of its release. It has since been surpassed New Leaf, but it still offers year long playback. One unique aspects of this franchise is that a day in real life is a day in game. With different seasons, weather events, festivals, tournaments, and holidays, there is a reason to log in every day. Upkeep of your town is a daily exercise, as well. Between fishing, digging for fossils, bug collecting, fishing, paying off your house a few times, tree farming, fishing, flower farming, star gazing, relationship building, and fishing, there's plenty to do in your town, and things change monthly. The game is appropriate for all ages, but adventure gamers may not be interested in its ...

The game itself and the case are in great condition and I’ve had no issues with it’s performance or the system not being able to read it. More often than not when I’ve bought used wii games, I have to clean it myself before it works like it’s supposed to so I was very pleased that it gave me no trouble at all :)
