      The Believer's Bible Commentary is a great one-volume commentary on the whole Bible.

      The Believer's Bible Commentary is an excellent one-volume commentary over the whole Bible. It's excellent resource material for Bible teachers & preachers. The content is not shallow in its theological writing, but neither do you bog down in huge theological words. I use it all the time for when I prepare my Sunday school lessons and I gave it as a gift to a friend who loves to study the Bible. The author's doctrine is non-denominational, solid, fundamental Christianity based on the Scriptures. I highly recommend The Believer's Bible Commentary for everyone who wants an understandable Bible commentary.

      Best 1-volume Bible commentary I know

      I knew the author of this commentary (now with the Lord) personally, and thoroughly enjoyed his ability to teach the Bible in clearly understandable language. He did not use a $50 word where a simple one would accurately express what he was saying. He was for many years a professor at Emmaus Bible College in Oak Park, Illinois (now located in Dubuque, Iowa, where it was moved for the sake of a larger facility as the Oak Park location was surrounded by private property whose owners were not interested in selling any land). Mr. MacDonald later became Dean, a position he held for many years before retiring to devote his full time to his writing and to preaching in churches and conferences across the country.       This is the 1 printing of the Belivers Bible. The new addition is dark blue/black. I was given this bible commentary after I accepted Christ as Lord & Saviour of my life. I didn't understand much anything in the bible, God guided me through my 4 formative years of. Christian growth. Years later I was blessed by God to become a Sunday School teacher for several years and after that Sunday School Superintendent for 6 years.. This commentary is a must for a young Christian and for any believers library. It's a must have verse by verse study. If I could afford a box full I'd give one to every new BABE IN CHRIST I met.       Great Bible study tool

      Great Commentary. As with all tools you use in your Bible study, always pray for wisdom and understanding before using anything for clarification on scriptures you might not understand. These tools are man's opinions about what God is trying to tell us through scripture. If it doesn't sound right, it may not be right so do more research. However, God's word is the same yesterday, today and forever...if you are trying to justify a sinful act or belief, you need to decide if you are in the wrong or not...are your beliefs lining up with God's word or are you trying to justify your stance by taking scripture out of context? This is a great tool when used correctly. Would recommend. It was in better shape than I expected.
