Been sewing forever, but just got into canvas. Very nice piece of fabric at a good price. It is not a "heavy weight", more like a medium-weight denim with a nice drape. Before I found this item, I had used 10 oz canvas, which was "way too heavy" for routine crafting. I ordered this 7 oz Duck as a test to see if this it would work as the bucket portion for tote bags. It's just right...durable but not too stiff...doesn't need to be faced...and isn't a strain on my home sewing machine.
