What is the size of the thread on this thing? I found an old imperial nut to fit (might even be Whitworth!?!) - had to grind it down a bit and fabricate a suitable plate, but I expected an M8 thread - or something more modern, metric at least. Also had to drill out the other end (side?) and tap a thread for the knob-retaining bolt inside (room-side) of the rim lock. I was like a peeg in sheet doing all this, but not everyone has the tools!
