Simply the best
From time to time I have tried different strings. These Rotosound 88's are the most authentic, warm sounding strings for a "Great" fretless sound. I like these so much that I use them on my 5 and 6 string passive fretless, 5 string fretted active and my Ovation acoustic/electric basses. Warm, easy to tune and stay in tune. Great durability. Depending on settings, I can sound like Jaco, modern funk, old Motown or gritty dirty rock. It doesn't hurt that they feel so good too.From time to time I have tried different strings. IN for a penny in for a NUT
You have to totally commit to these as to install them you have to recut you nut.. The diameters are huge.. I was going to try these on a RiC bass and use the smaller strings of the set but they're way too slinky (loose) for that..I have Pyramid Nickel flats on there now and am just staying with them..
