About this product

Product Information

Many musicians use a set of microphones to effectively capture each individual aspect of the performance, instead of using one mic to record the entire process. Using a mic designed for a specific purpose, such as for vocals or drums, ensures that that specific aspect of the audio sounds lifelike, natural and just as it was intended. It also ensures that what you hear during the performance translates to the finished product, so that it sounds the same on the CD as it did when you cut it in the studio or played it on the stage. The Sennheiser E-602-II dynamic instrument microphone is a specialized and high-performance mic that’s a versatile addition to your recording gear. It is one that’s optimized for a very specific set of instruments, so you know it’s exactly what you need to capture the performance just as you want it to sound. Get crystal-clear, high-quality sound with the multi-purpose Sennheiser E-602-II dynamic cardioid instrument microphone. This versatile drum and bass mic is ideal for a wide range of performance venues and spaces, including professional music studios, night clubs, rehearsal rooms and even home studios. Take it with you wherever you go, instead of having to pack multiple mics for different venues and needs. Plus, this mic can evolve as your career evolves, so you can use it when you’re just starting out in small clubs, and continue using it when you cut your first demo. The cardioid pickup pattern means the area directly in front of the mic is the most sensitive, while the sides are less sensitive and sound is not recorded from the rear of the mic. This makes it the kind of microphone that’s ideal for pointing directly at the instrument you want to record. It’s especially well-suited for recording live performances, as well as for using in spaces that have poor acoustics, or for making up a drum kit. Designed specifically for recording instruments rather than vocals, it’s optimized for low frequency instruments such as bass drums, tubas, a kick drum, and accessories such as bass guitar amplifiers. This sturdy mic is rugged but lightweight and it is constructed of durable aluminum. It also features a built-in stand and comes with a pouch. Sennheiser E-602-II drum and bass mics are also easy to position, even on long microphone boom arms, so you can get them in just the right spot for ultimate sound quality and optimal recording. They also feature frequency-independent directivity, which means they help isolate the sound you want to record from the other on-stage signals. These microphones are suitable for high-sound pressure levels of up to 160 decibels, and feature a low bass response that goes all the way down to 20Hz. These microphones also boast fast transient signals and a frequency response of 20Hz-16kHz. The voice coil on these microphones is lightweight and designed for high-performance, and this mic features a steel inlet basket with a large-diaphragm capsule design that’s an industry tradition.

    Great mic for the price

Did a lot of research and decided on this for my kick drum as compared to a d112,beta52,and d6.I chose this primarily because it liked being up close to the head ,and does a nice job there. My only complaint is the microphone holder .I'd like to see the microphone base and holder have serrations of some type cause you have to tighten it very tight for internal kick drum mounting, so the microphone doesn't drop during play. Over all, I love it.

  • awesome

This mic is awesome. I have it a couple inches front the batter head on my kick. It produces a deep punch and no garbage with it. I have a dedicated speaker and mixer I run it from. If you looking to mic up this your kit in a professional way buy this. Don't go cheap you wont get the sound. I've been there. I also have the 604 mics for my Tom's and equally love those.

  • Well built mic with a great sound

So far I’ve used the mic on my kick drum and it has a very balanced, non-hyped sound with great low end. I’m sure it would sound amazing on floor toms as well.
