    Beverly Hills Cop (DVD, 2002)

    Eddie Murphy plays Axel Foley, a young Detroit police detective who's best friend returns from Los Angeles with a bag full of stolen bearer bonds. Within minutes, Foley is knocked unconscious and his friend is murdered in his apartment. Foley is forced to go on vacation by his chief. Axel takes off to LA and there is instantly a culture shock between a brash young black man from Detroit, and his interactions with the Beverly Hills Police. He has a good friend who works at an upscale art gallery in LA, and from what she tells him about her employers, he pretty much figures that there is a smuggling ring involved.     Great 80's flashback flick

    Anyone who grew up in the 80's remembers Axel Foley and Beverly Hills Cop. This is a great movie with lots of action and when Eddie Murphy is the star, you know there is going to be a lot of comedy mixed in. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton and others make for an excellent supporting cast. This is the "Special Collector's Edition" and has some special features but unfortunately no outtakes. Overall an outstanding flick to add to any collection. Rated R.
