    'Zuma' Zoomed By Everyone......except the Critics

    ....who predictably loved it when others ignored this roots rock CD from Neil Young. What's up with that?? Neil is ticked off and writes best when his soul has been chipped. His epic: Cortez the Killer identifies Cortez as the murderer he was, not hero, and Young spares no expense telling you so. The CD kicks off with Danger Bird, a blistering guitar number reminiscent of a better Lynyrd Skynyrd early song. When Young teams up with his #1 backup band: Crazy Horse, you can bet the guitar solos will fly, and the acoustic ways of Harvest and other unplugged cds, are quickly forgotten. There are about 5 superb cuts on this CD, and if you can skip "Stupid Girl" with its banal annoying lyrics, you will find this CD is bound for your car stereo on road trips.

    often overlooked

    I don't claim to be a "Neil Young fan", although I do like this particular album. Until recently, "Zuma" almost seemed as if no-one had ever heard of it, which would be a shame since I find it to be one of his best. It has it's political overtones which I usually find to be a little bothersome, but are easily ignored with this album. Any listener who enjoys Mr Young's music but hasn't heard this offering is in for a very pleasant surprise.

    Zuma - Neil Young

    This is an excellent disc. Great music, especially "Cortez the Killer"!!! It is vintage Neil Young. If you like Neil you'll love this one.
