  • Awesome little wide angle lens

This is a pretty nice wide angle lens and I'm in love with it. It's compact, wide enough for my requirements, allows some very creative photos - landscapes and cityscapes, even portraits are very different with a lens like this. It looks sharp enough on all focal lengths. I used to have an SLR with a much more expensive and way larger wide angle lens and this one is not behind it in any aspect. for me, this is a must have and I highly recommend it.

  • Glad I bought it!

I bought this to use on my Olympus OM-D E-M5 as, although I had the 7.5mm fisheye lens, I wanted 'normal' view as well. I read about the purple fringing issues. It only occurs when shooting into strong light and can be seen in the viewer so you can change you position to cut it out or down. I have used the lens quite a lot and it hasn't really been a problem. I did consider the Olympus 9-18 but the difference between 7mm mattered for me. I have other Panasonic lenses and knew they were quality. I managed to get a second hand 7-14 for about £500 so the price issue wasn't a problem for me as if I had bought new. The picture quality is first class, sharp, and it's great being able to zoom. A highly recommended addition to the four thirds stable.

  • An excellent purchase for your Micro 4/3rds system. Highly recommended!

I like wide angle photography and this lens gives extreme wide angle down to 7mm, which is equivalent to 14mm in 35mm terms and is not a fish eye lens. Relatively compact. Fairly lightweight. Excellent build quality. Superb optically giving very sharp images. Constant f/4.0 maximum aperture. Bulbous front element so unable to fit filters on front of lens. Slight vignetting at f/4.0. Slightly pricey. Nearest equivalent Olympus 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6, which is not as wide and does not have a constant aperture. Albeit a cheaper alternative to those that can't afford the Panasonic.

  • Superb quality Ultra Wide Angle lens for the micro four thirds system.

This has proved to be a great Ultra Wide Angle (UWA) lens. Primarily used for shooting buildings it is far superior to my previous 9~18mm Oly lens. The constant f4 is a boon (I'd prefer f2.8 but as I normally shoot f8 this isn't a show stopping issue). Used on a tripod with a spirit level distortions are minimal. Flare can be an issue when shooting towards the light. If you like to used filters this isn't the lens for you - go instead for the 9~18 Oly instead.

  • An indispensable lens in my bag.....

This lens it's one of the most impressive extreme wideangle that I ever seen and used... It's perfect for architectural photos with the digital aberrations corrections and really useful in video also without a stedycam It's possible to take very smooth movies .... Very good performance at f/4 - 5,6, but it has outstanding sharpness until f/11... An indispensable lens in my bag.....
