Take your photography to the next level with this Nikon TC TC-201 2X teleconverter lens. This Nikon lens fits on all auto and manual focus cameras and lenses. This teleconverter is designed to provide superb performance, when used with Nikon AF or AIS mount lenses of 200mm or less. Due to the high-quality design of this converter, the teleconverter will only fit and work with a select range of lenses. However, most MF Ai Nikkor lenses that have a focal length of up to 200mm are compatible and most the the AF lenses of a similar size can be manually focused even without the autofocus capabilities. The Nikon TC-201 teleconverter lens is compatible with the AF 70-300 f/4-5.6D ED, AF 80-200mm f/2.8D ED, AF-S 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF, AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8D ED-IF and all wide-angle to medium telephoto lenses, up to 300mm, including zoom lenses. The Nikon TC-201 is a 2x teleconverter, or tele-extender that will double the focal length of your camera's existing lens and reduce the light that affects your images by 2 f/stops. As an example of this light reduction, when you use a 2x teleconverter with your 100mm lens, the focal length increases out to 200mm. The setting of the lens moves from f/2.8 out to f/5.6. The lens turns any auto focus lens into a manual focus lens, allowing for more control, but less intuitiveness from the camera. The Nikon TC201 provides an extra coupling unit to deliver the most complete aperture lug-read you can get with an FA, EM or F4. This gives you additional exposure options such as matrix metering on the F4 and FA settings, and you also gain an automatic flash control when you use the EM setting. The Nikon TC201 lens has seven different elements found in five different groups and couplings that have lenses as fast as f/2, providing up to T/4. The Nikon TC-201 teleconverter features an aperture coupling range from f/2 to f/32 and an effective aperture from f/4 to f/64. The Nikon TC-201 2x magnification lens measures in at 64.5mm in diameter and is 52mm long, and clocks in at a weight of 230g. Additional accessories available for this lens include protective carry cases and optional mount fasteners.

    Good product.

    This is good product, in my opinion. However, It is important to note that your lens must have a manual aperture adjustment ring for things to work properly. Without that ring, there is no way to change aperture settings. If auto focus is a must, or the lens /lenses you want to use with a teleconverter don't have manual aperture adjustments, you will want to go with a different teleconverter. I fall into this category. I'll keep this teleconverter to use on a lens I have, but I need one to work with a lens that doesn't have manual aperture adjustments, the main lens I wanted a teleconverter for. It would be nice to have autofocus if I want it as well.

    NIKON TC-201, 2X Teleconverter with 500mm Reflex telephoto... looks like on safari!

    The NIKON TC-201, 2X Teleconverter used on any of the NIKON digital cameras, such as with, say the NIKON D7000 or D80 as I do with my NIKON 500mm Reflex telephoto lens in manual mode opens a new world. The lens is a “fixed f: 8 mirror” lens, so with the camera set at “shutter preferred” mode, it pushes the focal length to 1000mm f: 8… or more like 1,500mm with the digital increase. The shutter speed will adjust itself; this is so cool and a lot of fun. The Reflex lens is small in length and rather light on price you can pick one up here on eBay from $200 ~ $500 or maybe a little more. Grab fantastic shots that otherwise be unattainable because you could not get close enough. Shooting animals at the zoo, compressing the image, the back and foreground blur, one would think you were on ...

    TC-201 2X LENS, YOU LOOSE AUTO, BUT YOU CAN WORK IT OUT IN MANUAL. GET ONE.

    YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN MANUAL, YOU LOSE ALL THE AUTOFOCUS, AND OTHER INFO THAT YOU HAVE WITH THE LENS ALONE, BUT IF YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT WORK, IS GOING TO WORK JUST FINE. BOUGHT IT FOR 50 DOLLARS AT AN AUCTION, 20 DOLLARS SHIPPING, ITS NOT GOING TO BREAK THE BANK AND IM USING IT, ACCORDINGLY TO HOW IT SHOULD BE USED. IM HAPPY WITH IT AND IF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON ONE LIKE THIS ONE LOW IN PRICE, IT WILL BE A WINNER. CLEAN AND ALMOST NEW. IS MAKING MY 80 TO 200 MM 2.8F SHINE LIKE A 160 TO 400 MM.

    Best teleconverter I've used. I have only been doing photography for about a year and a half, no expert. But I really like it. Although, I'm not if it will be good for night photography
