Slot-Loading G3 iMac: Beautiful, but ultimately overrated.
These iMacs were really made at very low production costs; a lot of the parts fail and they can't hold their own weight after heavy use. The inner bezel always likes to fall apart at every given chance you need to fix the CRT side of the computer, and the CD-ROM drives are near impossible to replace without knowing some obscure knowledge. These machines look absolutely great, don't get me wrong! However, they shouldn't be going for the prices they are going for now. It'll only be a matter of time before the system stops working due to an overheating issue, and for beginners... you wouldn't want to go through the pain to get one of these fully operational. Apple produced these at a huge production cost deficit as the demand was astronomically high at the time, so they had to make a lot of ... Apple produced these at a huge production cost deficit as the demand was astronomically high at the time, so they had to make a lot of sacrifices after the first run of iMacs: no fan, a cheap and poorly designed slot loading drive, and harman/kardon speakers that sounded great but were rushed to production. These are absolutely nice machines to use for OS 9... but I could think of another that would be much better: eMac. Or... just buy a PowerMac G4 and pair it with a CRT you dug up from your grandma's basement. These are not great for anyone unless you're a serious collector, or if you find one for free. Just expect to run into things breaking once you're working on a slot-loading G3 iMac. I'm surprised mine arrived in one piece, and still works. Again... it might die someday.

like my MAC only probem is both speakers are not that good and need to be replaced and i been looking but no luck like the mac computer but both speakers need to be replaced or if possible to have them fixed ?
