    Unusual outcome!!!

This one just about blew me away. I did not see it coming. I always identify with the "good guy" and hope that he /she will carry the day. This took a different turn and I am impressed with the authors. I recommend it but be ready for a special ending.

  • My First Patterson, and I thought it was GREAT!!!

Beach Road - James Patterson Many people were dissapointed in this book. It was my first James Patterson novel and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was edgy and unpredictable, a great book to just sit down and read in one sitting! I understand where people are coming from when they complain about the writing style, as it can sometimes be confusing, especially if you're engrossed in the book and forget to check the chapter header. I love the short chapters. It makes the book incredibly easy to read before bed (I just can't fall asleep in-midst chapter) Patterson keeps you guessing from the beginning, and when you finally learn the truth... People who give away the ending by complaining about it for whatever reason are doing a disservice to all people reading these reviews. I ...

  • Beach Road by Patterson & DeJonge is no dead end!

Every new Patterson book that comes out can read it in a matter of hours...and not in succession. His mini chapters keep a busy person going back for more when they have a break. The Patterson-DeJonge combination has proven to be a winner. Beach Road captivates the reader from page one, weaving the characters, letting the reader get to know them or at least think they do. It has just about everything, murder, mystery, love, family, area intrigue, and still pretty much PG rated (another thing to enjoy with Patterson). A great beach book, once you read it, you will be back for more...don't loan it out though, you may never see it again!

  • Summer in the Hamptons with Patterson's Beach Road

If I can't spend my summer in the Hamptons, then I'll just have to read a book about the wealthy folks who do. That is, without the triple homicide that upends the Hamptons, scapegoats a young man who claims to be innocent, and leads to seedier neighborhoods and more murder. Tom Dunleavy, a lawyer who does a few real estate closings on occasion, teams up with his old girlfriend, lawyer Kate Costello, to defend the man accused of the murders of three men who were playing basketball on a court belonging to a wealthy homeowner who is not in town. The two risk life and limb to build their case. James Patterson writes with his usual short chapters and crescendo storyline. I found that the first one-third of the book didn't hold my attention like a Patterson suspense novel usually does, but ...

  • Yet Another Quick Patterson Read!

James Patterson again joins up with Peter DeJonge (Beach House) for a novel set in the posh and pristine communities of The Hamptons. For the Patterson faithful, this is everything you expect in a James Patterson novel and nothing more. Patterson's style of book writing is almost like reading a script for a t.v. movie. The chapters are extremely short, the dialogue and action sequences are quick and character depth is quite shallow. Just when I think I can't take anymore of his predictable writing style, I think about Alex Cross and the Woman's Murder Club. Oh Well! Without giving too much away, the story line revolves around the death of a black basketball player and the three white Hampton kids who are accused of his murder. Tom Dunleavy, a former professional basketball player and ...
