The idea is good, but there is no motor control, you need to look at the original computer circuit to understand how the motor is controlled, you could put some kind of solid state relay, modern ones are very cheap. After turning off the computer, the tape recorder continues to work - I accidentally heard it. I'll have to tweak your design a bit.

That would be unnecessary as you are going to unplug the tape deck from the modern computer once you have finished the job anyway.
