    Great tool

    Works great! The large screen is just bright enough to work in a bright room, the matte finish keeps off most reflections and feels more like drawing on paper. Newer versions of the cintiq are too shiny and bright for me, feel like I'm drawing on a slick TV screen (and they're a LOT more expensive). If you can get one with all the cords and the stand for $400 - $600 that's in working order, it's a real bargain.

    Older model that still delivers; good for digital artists on a budget

    There are now newer Wacoms Citiqs that perform better with more modern components and features, but for the year and make of this model the Wacom 21UX performs as expected for its intended use at a fraction of the price of current models. Good pen pressure, sensitivity, and minimal draw lag; vibrant monitor with good color accuracy. Overall, if one can overlook some of the dated specifications when in comparison to newer models, the 21UX still delivers the seamless pen-to-screen work flow for digital artists at a budget price.

    Well worth the cost, especially in the used market

    I'm an illustration professor, and teach my classes on Cintiqs. We started years ago with this model, which originally retailed for over $3000 each. That price fell to about $2000 before being replaced by newer models. Even at $2000, many students purchased their own; after getting used to drawing on the screen, it's hard to go back to a tablet. At current used prices ($300-600) it's a no-brainer. These devices are made to last, and make drawing on the computer much more intuitive and enjoyable. There's something that resonates within most artists when they are drawing directly on a screen. This older model does have a pretty soft focus and a fairly low resolution. But it's 100% functional, production-ready, and has what many feel is the best surface for drawing. An excellent choice for ...
