    Got the drive, works fine and was tested. No problems, issues. No installations of programs to recognize hardware, plug n play. Appreciated the unknown bonus of a full, limited, version of Cyberlink Power Director 12 video editing software. Not trial based, shareware. Drive brand new as described.

Does make some whirring noises when playing a CD or DVD but I'd rather wear headphones anyway so the noise doesn't bother me. The correct USB cord that this uses is the USB 2.0 cable A-Male to Mini-B. Windows 10 found the correct driver right away so no driver hassles. Read that this will work on Macs too. Nice!

    Good product and easy to use. Slim footprint.

    It's a Dell product and it works well. It is a little slow due to the technology but it works just fine for DVDs and CDs. It's exactly what I needed to make my laptop more functional!

    Inexpensive and works w/o a glitch hardware wise..I recommend Highly

    the US DVD player instantly recognized and performs well. Its the perfect subsititute if you planning to install a hard drive/ssd in an optical bay but still need a player/writer.. THe Cyber power software was a nice add, BUT be aware even after update (s) which Cyber pushes for a cost..the player is supposedly highly ranked, but has the same glitches over a decade. Save some time and just download VLC player and it works just fine w/olocking up your computer..when fast fowarding a movie.. It was certainly a great experience and buy for me..

    Great CD/DVD player for laptops that do not contain one or for a handy replacement for one that has failed.

    This external CD/DVD player is thin and light and it comes with a USB cable that is used to provide power also. It does not plug into any other power source so your laptop must have a powered USB port available. You may also need to download a free media software but basically this is a great value.
