Curtis RT700 7 in. Portable TV Review
I was amazed at the quality of the picture. This is a great deal for the average eBay price of $50.00 to $60.00 price range. The unit is complete with all hardware so you can install it permanently or you can just use it as a spare portable you can take anyware. I have my unit hooked up to cable at my work and setting it up was easy and the tunner in the TV picked up all the channels. I would highly recommend this unit, for the price you can not go wrong.I was amazed at the quality of the picture. This is a great deal for the average eBay price of $50.00 to $60.00 price range. pro's and cons
I bought this little tv because the price was right. It comes with numerous accessories, so you might say it has all the bells and whistles. On the down side it seems to have analog tuning , so it will require a converter box in the near future. You really need a strong signal to use the on board antenna. That is not available in the rural area I live in, so you may need an auxillary antenna as well. If you have the old style two wire antenna available, there is an adapter included. If you receive your signal through a co-ax, you will need to purchase a different adapter. I found mine on ebay for $1.99 plus S&H. (a total of $6.01) You may be able to find one elswhere cheaper, I don't really know. The picture is very good if you have a strong signal, and the tv is simple to operate. It is ... a paperweight as of Feb 2009
If you purchase a no-power required external antenna (read rabbit ears) you will get better reception, very acceptable as a matter of fact. However after speaking with the manufacturer, as of Feb 2009, without purchasing a seperate digital converter, you will have a "nice paperweight"...their words not mine. A seperate digital converter defeats the battery power option as the converters are all 110v... Curtis 7" monitor and TV set
Well,been a ham (radioamateur) for many years and having purchased recently a radio made by Icom (Japan) model IC-7000,decided to look and buy a small monitor to hook it up to the radio composite video output and then found this Curtis 7" monitor that for a decent price is working great,what I like the most is its image,very nice colors and definition.What I dislike: NOTHING.I simply love it and its the perfect choise for my application.Thanks for selling an excellent quality product.
