    Interesting Character Study On The Sexual Awakening Of A Girl

    I found out about A Real Young Girl in a list of banned films, and I decided to give it a shot. I had been spoiled a bit about the controversial subject matter in it, but as I watched the film I didn't find myself shocked by a any of it. There is nudity (depictions of both male and female genitalia), masturbation, and ejaculation. The director does not shy away from showing any of that. Most of the controversy surrounding the film may be centered on the fact that the protagonist is a pre-teen girl (played by a 21-year-old actress) entering puberty and acting on her sexual desires. I find the use of soundtrack and cinematography to be the strongest aspects in the film. The story is not strong enough to make one care about the characters, but its risqué nature on exploring the sexual ...
