    Good quality, with a good history.

    Hitach hard drives are long lasting, and reliable. The name brand has shown to produce quality to me since the very early VCR recorder days. I currently own 3 functioning Hitachi hard drives from 250 gb, to 2 tb. I recently gave away a perfectly functioning Hitachi self cleaning VCR from the early 90's. It still worked perfectly. I trust this company. Good performance history.

    Loud but works.

    With the increase of hard drive prices and the need of smaller drives for my test computers a 250GB fit the bill just nicely. There's not much to rate about hard drives. If you know how to utilize the firmware diagnostics it'll tell you if the drive is good or not; this one appeared to be used in an idle machine (presumably a server).

    Hitachi Deskstar

    Being my first hitachi drive, was not sure what to expect. Yet, This drive installed and was recognized by the bios on first bootup. Windows xp went on the drive without a glitch,, its quiet no grinding noise or freezes. Wound buy more.
