Your Basic Satellite Radio Receiver
I love my satellite radio, and I hate the terrestrial radio I have in the Twin Cities area. The Roady XT that I received as part of a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team broke, and I panicked. After researching online for products and prices, I decided to roll the dice on eBay. I didn't get the Roady XT I wanted, but I fiercely outbid some other dude for this Audiovox XpressEZ. It wasn't what I had hoped for, but I have a Belkin mobile kit and both the Roady and the Xpress can be used in it. I think the ten bucks for S&H is a bit much, but I got it for about $22, so I shouldn't complain too much about it. It was opened, as was said. All the contents were inside too, as was said. Everything is in working condition, and I had no problems transferring my XM subscription to ... I love my satellite radio, and I hate the terrestrial radio I have in the Twin Cities area. Aside from the usual reception problems (the signal cuts when I'm on low ground or driving between trees in a residential area), I can listen to satellite radio to my heart's content. The bad news is the receiver takes some getting used to. This is a very rudimentary receiver, absent the features I took for granted in the Roady XT. There is a knob that you twirl through the stations. However, unlike on the Roady, you do not have a choice on what is displayed when you scroll through the channel. On the Xpress you only get to see the channel number and the name of the station; on the Roady you can flip through the displays so that you surfing gives you descriptions on what song is playing on the channel, not just the channel name. I'm a very impatient guy, and I don't want to listen through songs I hate. Yet I can't look at the display while I'm driving, so actually using this receiver is very challenging. There are other disadvantages. The XpressEZ is limited in the number of pieces of memory it can hold. The Roady can memorize 30 of your favorite channels; this can keep only 10. You have the ability to look up sports scores of your favorite teams and keep track of stock prices on the Roady; not so on the Xpress EZ. I even have trouble with the look and shape of the Xpress. You can change the display colors on the Roady, but not here. And the knob makes for some awkward handling; when I'm on the road and trying to concentrate on the traffic while at the same time changing the channel, I don't know if the dial clicked once to a different station or not. Nowadays I just drive while listening to the same channel because I don't have time to devote attention to finding a song that I like. I didn't know exactly what I lost when the Roady XT went on the fritz, but now I do. However, me describing the limitations shouldn't blind you to my assertion that I got what I paid for. As long as I can listen to XM Radio in my car and while on the go, it doesn't really matter what the receiver looks like nor what it can't do. For the price, it's a bargain.

I purchased a pair of Audiovox XpressEZ XMCK5P Satellite Radio Receivers based on other online reviews floating around the web. We were looking for a very basic XM radio that offered very simple user interface and minimal features. This unit really fits the bill; the single dial control is intuitive and the entire radio can be mastered in a matter of minutes without wading through the operator's manual. The unit itself is very compact and lends well to an unobtrusive vehicle installation. One feature the XpressEZ lacks that I would really like is a 3.5mm aux input jack in the docking station. Great! ....well sort of
Got new in the box, was a breeze to install and works great , only complaint is the seemingly weak transmitter built in that was consistently fuzzy tried it on several frequencies no better. but unit has audio out and with that hooked up was great sound. Also the vent mount provided worked alot better than it first looked in the box. Another thing to remember is the unit is just like any LCD device sensitive to high temp so if left in the sun on a hot day in your car the screen will be blank till the unit cools off, which is pretty quick considering it is mounted on the AC vent.Got new in the box, was a breeze to install and works great , only complaint is the seemingly weak transmitter built in that was consistently fuzzy tried it on several frequencies no better. but unit has audio out and with that hooked up was great sound. Perfect size....horrible mounting kit!
I bought this product because of the size, I wanted a small XM receiver for my car and this is perfect! The only downside I've found is the mounting mechanism is attached to the vent in your car. Which (I predict) will not fair well when using the heater or air conditioning in my car (which I do daily). The screen is easily readable and the navigation was simple to maneuver. I would recommend this product if you want something that will NOT take up much space in your home/auto. I do NOT have the in-home "set-up" (ie: mounting kit)...but I assume it would be the same as your auto.
