Improved the classic DT990 in every way.

Well rounded and better than the DT990 in every category. Easy to drive on a 1 watt amp, even a good gaming sound card like an AE-5 or G6 makes them sound great. The sound stage is good, and a lot better for gaming than most planar magnetics because it's wide and deep (not just wide) so you can hear in front and behind you well. Best DAC's are the Khadas tone board or Soundblaster AE-7 for these.

  • Your ears deserve the DT1990s

The DT 1990s are perfect for the studio. I prefer the optional analytic pads for mixing and mastering, with no loss of detail or low end. The balanced pads installed by the factory provide a bit too much energy to my taste and endurance, but might have greater appeal purely for listening. On that score I was previously talked into purchasing the more expensive Beyerdynamics T1s, which I promptly returned, completely unimpressed for studio use. IMHO, the 1990s are superior in every respect, including the build, and deserve the almost universal recommendations found in related videos. The right-side cable is a bit odd, but also works perfectly for the right-side headphone output on my Presonus mixer. I also prefer the coiled cable option for studio use. Your ears deserve the ...

  • Works like a dream!

I’m no audiophile(well not a well educated one at least) so take what I say with a grain of salt. These headphones are the best headphones I’ve ever had, they’re so comfortable, I can hear everything but it’s not overbearing and instead it’s more natural. The clamp fits my big head fine, I could wear these all day and I probably will. The pads are so soft and comfortable. These feel worth the price and then some. Everything from the case, to the machining and engineering of the headphones feels like I’m going to either the best studio/movie theater ever. I don’t know any other way to describe how they feel. I’m very happy with my purchase and I’m pretty sure I’ve ruined any other headphone below this price range and maybe even above.

  • Excellent, they compliment each other.

I'm happy with my investment. This setup sounds excellent together. I'm still experimenting with how different headphones and earbuds sound with the amp. So far everything I hook up is improved. The dt 1990s are awesome. I just got done trying the amp out with a vintage Teac 10 band equalizer. Wow! It's sounds unbelievable playing around with the frequency spectrum with these headphones on. It was worth it to go with German electronics!

  • Splendid headphone

The DT 1990 is a superb headphone. I tend to like a "brighter" sounding 'phone. The criticism of the "Beyer House Sound" is that it is TOO bright, sibilant, piercing. My experience with the DT 1990 does not coincide with this critique. I find them to be very revealing while never departing from musicality. Imaging (one of my priorities) is good but not exceptional. In short I find the DT 1990's to be a very enjoyable listen.
