Too Heavy, handle too big unless you are riding in a cart and can put in the back of the cart outside of the bag.

I can get balls the others in my foursome can't get. This retriever extends way out and can get a lot of balls out of reach of most retrievers. I got 20+ balls just walking by the water on each hole and scooping out a few from each water hazard. Probably got my money's worth the first time out. There are two problems, way too heavy. If you are in a cart it's okay but if you walk and carry it adds far too much extra weight. Also the hand the is extremely large, it will take up a whole slot in a carry bag (if yours has all dividers for each club), or if you put in a regular bag the thick handle pushes against the grips on your clubs and makes them a bit harder to get out of the bag.

    Igotcha Ball Retreiver

To Whom It May Concern: Ordered my new retriever and received it promptly. Removed it from the box and tried it out by placing a golf ball on the floor. Read the instructions and followed them. When I placed the retriever over the ball and put a little pressure on it , the pin holding the head popped out and the mechanism fell apart. I "retrieved" the parts, reassembled the parts of the head and replaced the pin with a drop of crazy glue. While repairing the retriever, I also noticed that the "tighten-loosen" sticker on the shaft had been applied upside down. After the glue dried the retreiver now operates. But I must say that here in North and South Carolina, many of the water hazards are small ponds with many weeds, dead leaves and soft muddy bottoms. The dead plant life often catches on ...

  • Good deal for the price.

For the price you can't go wrong. It is not very strong when it is let out all the way, but at least you have a chance to get your ball back. It is easy to use. I'm not sorry I bought it, and would purchase again.

  • The best but......

I own all three models that IGotcha makes. I live on a golf course and walk in the evening to exercise with my wife. We both have ball retrievers and average about 15-20 balls a day. So we really give our IGotcha tools a workout. This one is longer and stronger than the others for the really long reaches. Therefore heavier than the others. But boy what a reach! BTW wanna buy some golf balls?

  • Works well, made cheaply

I've had three of these - and that's the problem! They work well, except in soft pond mud because you must press the device down over the ball. If you miss slightly, the edge of the device will push the ball further into the mud and you won't find it. The construction, in order to remain light, is made of lightweight metal which can bend and break easily - hence 3 of them over the years. They don't wear out - they break. It could be easily redesigned to last longer but then, like a ladder, you'd only ever need one of them. Its the best available
