    Lightweight with great features, but hurts after a while

    This is a pretty good product in general. The sound system is very good, with a good bass quality. The size can be adjust to fit your head perfectly, and the headphone is definitely light weight. However, for some reason, my ear hurts (not too badly, but a little bit) after wearing the headphones for 2 hours. Probably because headphones cover your ears very tightly. However, it comes with the benefit that noise isolation works pretty well. So I would suggest this product for people who only listen to music for a short period of time, and do not require the full experience of extreme bass.

    Lots of bang for relatively little bucks!

    In my opinion, these headphones represent an excellent value! Sound is accurate and bass is satisfying, but not overpowering. In other words, they aren't Beats, even though they are red. I have listened for relatively long periods and haven't experienced much in the way of ear fatigue, although the cans get a little uncomfortable (and sweaty and hot) after a while. Also, the stock cable is a little on the short side. I primarily use the for practicing keys when the family is sleeping. I also find myself using them to listen to music as really do like the way they sound.

    In short, well built but disappointing sound.

    I purchased the MDR-V55 because it was time to replace my old Sennheiser HD 250's. I was looking for something with power and capability for bass, but also clarity and something that wouldn't drown out the rest of the sound. I figured a trusted brand like Sony would surely be able to live up to that for a set that retails for about $80. The downside: As someone who's father has been a professional DJ for over 35 years, I know how to put headphones through their paces. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed with the sound of the MDR-V55's. It seems to be an obvious attempt to recreate Beats headphones. The problem with that is that Beats are designed to be extremely bass heavy. The pure tones of music are drowned out and clarity is lost. This is not to say that bass ...

    Solid Headphones

    I was on a search to find some Sony headphones that have a little bit of length and are of good quality for streaming with my friend. I've gotten 3 of these so far and each one works great. NO issues with static or anything. Audio quality is good. They fit fine on me and my friends heads, and I would recommend them.

    good quality nice value

    I didn't want to pay too much for a set of headphones I can use at work. This was just the thing. Although at first seemed a little tight on the ears, they can be adjusted so to speak by simply bending the head band outward slightly. So it's not the top you bend it is just above the ear set where the numbers display for adjustment preferences. Now mine are perfect.
