Superman 14 disc set is fantastic!
I have always loved Superman but never seen the original movies. The 14 disc collector's edition set is fantastic. It has all of the movies plus bonus discs and some cool artwork and literature. It is a great way to become familiar with the original makings of Superman. Highly recommend!

Review of Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD
If you are a Superman fan, this collection is for you. I have purchased some of the movies seperately, and also the Fleischer cartoons from the 40's. This set has pretty much everything involving Superman over the years (except for the TV series, those are sold seperately, of course). The set does include the original George Reeves movie that the Adventures of Superman tv show of the 50's was based upon. It has all of the movies including the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2 (a much better product than the original theatrical release). I think the set would have been more complete with the inclusion of the movie serials with Kirk Alyn and maybe the pilot episode of Lois and Clark. Other than that, the only other complaint of the included material is that if you lose the including ... If you are a Superman fan, this collection is for you. One of the best collections ever!
It has every original Superman movie starring Christopher Reeves ever made! It even includes Superman Returns with Brandon Routh! It has a small comic book taking you back through the years of Superman and including a DVD to go into more detail to how Superman came about. Need I say more

This set is a fine example of what can be done when a studio releases a series such as this magnificent set. The Richard Donner cut of "Superman II" to me was alone worth the price. "Superman II" as envisioned by Donner is a fantastic improvement over the theatrical release. The sound is wonderful, the extra footage is a godsend. I was blown away by this version. I have been a huge Superman fan since I was a boy. The loads of extras and commentaries are phenomenal. "Superman Returns" is a brilliantly conceived addition to the Superman mythos. I cannot get enough of this set. To me the "Superman III" is the weak point of the series...the forced slapstick in the intro is uncomfortable to watch. Richard Pryor is wasted in his role. If Pryor was given the Robert Vaughn role it would have been ... This set is a fine example of what can be done when a studio releases a series such as this magnificent set.
