    Beauty and a Beast.

    Great and and Amazing design, though at the cost of a big of usability, as the buttons on top are hard to see, so you have to remember what each one does.You will want to acquire the remote control to make things easier on yourself.

    Great little system as-is; add sub and it sparkles

    This looks like a little system that would match up nicely to some of the $99 setups you see at big box stores. Wrong. It includes a mini version of Nakamichi's Music Bank system for playing three CDs. It is a pretty heavy piece of gear for its size. And the speakers are clean-sounding and don't try to do more than their tiny size allows. However, I found that by adding a small subwoofer (Definitive Technology's baby sub is a great match), the little system really fills a room with sound. There are inputs for a couple of extra pieces, so you could hook this up to your TV and DVD player for a nice bedroom setup. Ultimately, the key to this system is that it's over-engineered. New, it was way too expensive to be terribly successful in the market. Now, we can get used examples for a steal.

    I love the stereo! I would give 5 stars, but I miss the remote control. Managed to find an OEM remote on eBay. Awaiting receipt of it.

    Great turn of the century (lol) bookshelf system with wow sounds

    I just bought one of these from my local GW store. I was looking for a vintage 70s/80s amp but found this and thought it deserved a try. Glad I did!! Wow, excellent sound quality, nice sort of old school new age design that still looks great. Sweet Mids and highs and there's a sub output. It has almost everything I need, only wish it had one more input for my turntable but I can fix that. And even though no phono in it does have tape in and out! Woo Hoo, great because I'm one of those who still listens to R2R... Even the remote works. If you're into mega watts and huge speakers and annoying the neighbors it's not for you but if you want a discrete system that sounds great this could be it. No BT or wireless but hey for a few bucks get a 3.5 to RCA cable and plug in your phone or table ...
