A great CD. A MUST have for your music collection!
One of the main reasons I've gotten into Townes Van Zandt is because there has been a lot written about him recently because of the new documentary "Be Here to Love Me." I have not gotten a chance to see it yet but I did see "Heartworn Highways" and watching him give a tour of his property makes the sometime slow film worth the wait...It's hilarious. The CD is outstanding and has several live tracks on it. This man was an awesome songwriter and a fascinating person to say the least. You won't be disappointed and everyone's collection needs Townes Van Zandt. His voice is amazing compared with what it became.
I originally heard Townes recordings late in his career. His voice was all but destroyed by all the booze. Hearing an older cd was enlightening - there was a voice I could fall in love with. The songs I've heard Lyle sing were here in their original state. I am frantically buying up all the TVZ cds I can find. Heaven.

I like the true starkness of this CD. It's from the heart and soul of the man. His style and writing tallent show through. He's was an amazing writer able to touch the souls of all that hear his songs.

I bought this CD because I had heard about Townes Van Zandt and like what he wrote and sang. This CD is a collection of his best work. It is awesome to listen too. The price was good too. Thanks.
