About this product

Product Information

Join the adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat, two heroes on a race through their own realms to save the world in 'Sonic Rush' for Nintendo DS. Released in 2005, this DS game lets players play as either character in intertwining adventures in several atmospheres, with differing outcomes and storylines to keep players on the edges of their seats. The game features challenging duels with bosses that charge at the player on two screens and sees the introduction of a new Sonic arch rival. The game uses both of the DS's dual screens, allowing players to perform long dives, loops, and high jumps from screen to screen in both two-dimensional and 3D action. Up to four players can compete in the game's racing mode.

    Pretty gud

They converted the boost formula to 2D. Really interesting sonic game, pretty fun. My only complaint is there are a lot of insta-death traps. Even Sonic 1 new better than to have too many of these because they can get really frustrating. Otherwise, the game is a cool take on sonic, AMAZING soundtrack, chill vibes.

  • Great game for the DS. More of the same classic Sonic.

This is absolutely one of the better games for the DS, but there are quite a few that I would recommend before it (see my other reviews). This game uses both screens at the same time as if they were one, which few DS games do. This creates a visually spectacular game, however it can be difficult to follow the action. Sonic moves incredibly fast which is what makes him who he is, but in this game he moves so quickly its doesn't feel like you are controlling his movements as much as simply watching him blaze through the levels in a blur. The Boss levels are done in 3D which is a nice touch. Visually this is probably the best game for the DS and the gameplay is pretty good too. Overall the game is fairly short but fun. There's something for everybody with this game, however ...

  • Whoa, now thats some fast fun

Well, I'm relatively new to the Sonic games and I must say that this game is pretty darn fun. I do know of the basic charachters: Sonic, Tails and the Eggman, all of whom are featured in this game. However I was a tad bit dissapointed that Knuckles was not inluded. In any case I should carry on to the gameplay. You've got a variety of level types to play through such as typical land, underwater, in space and more. Also as usual you play as Sonic the Hedgehog and run through the levels whilst dodging baddies and traps so that you can stop the Eggman's evil plots. The game utilises both of the screens of the NDS or NDSL, which makes the game challenging yet exciting. As you run, you may do something like running up a hill; at this point you would likely run from bottom ...

  • Uses Sonic's boost gameplay with some memorable cutscenes and a good story. Levels are also fun to complete for the 1st time.

Uses Sonic's boost gameplay and the levels are generally long and not easily memorized compared to Sonic Advance levels. It has a saving feature which is better than the earlier Game Gear games.

  • A great old-style Sonic game with new-style graphics.

Sonic Rush is definitely a great game to pick up for DS owners who are fans of the classic style Sonic games. The game utilizes the graphic capabilities of the DS, but maintains the classic 2D style of gameplay. The ability to play as both Sonic and Blaze adds replay value, though I think it would have been better if Blaze's story was more different. The game also introduces full-3D boss battles that still use the 2D mechanics, with unique ways of damaging the bosses. Of course, all games have negatives. Between playing as Sonic and Blaze, you may be feeling a bit of Deja Vu; there's not much difference. Also, there's a lot of storyline to read through, and you can't just skip it with one button. And having the somewhat annoying voices of Tails and Cream coaching you through boss battles, ...
