  • Living In Eastern KY

This film tells the true story of what it is like to live in eastern KY. The coal miners fought not only for their jobs but for the only way of living in the mountains where factory jobs are few and far between. Loosing your job out there, where people live in poverty, is like having a death sentance handed down to you and your family. The film is not very well made, but that is beside the point, to me anyway. The strike, the violence that went with it, showed how desparate people can be when it comes to survival. I have been through eastern KY and have seen the shacks that people live in today, and I know what it is to be poor. So you can call me bias. But when it comes to the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, I would vote in a union too. How would I know about this you say ...

  • Unions yes!!!!!

A lot of people today don't understand what the union has done for this country. Watch this movie and understand how a young man lay down his life for what he believes in. How he fought for your rights for safe work practices and honest that day's wage. Without the Union you wouldn't have what you have to do as far as safe work practices. After watching do your homework and see what you find out. You'll see why the union continues to fight on. If you like what you learn through this movie and what you find out yourself stand with the union and join us, make this country strong again.

  • Important history of coal mining and miners rights.

Important, especially now, when corporations are working to enslave their employees.

  • expensive dvd, but worth buying

I bought this dvd a few weeks ago, and loved it the only bad thing is it's old like back in the 1930's. It's definatly worth buying, it's very educational especially if your going to be an underground miner or you just want to brush up on your education about it. It's a bit expensive, but worth buying I definatly recommend it.
