  • Phantasy Star III

The Phantasy Star series is one of the best rpg franchises to hit the Sega Genesis. The series originally started with the master system then spawned 3 sequels then finally came the first online rpg series for a console namely Phantasy Starnline for the Sega Dreamcast then all the other next-gen consoles. Phantasy star three is the sequel to phantasy star 2 it takes place a couple hundred or a couple thousand years later. The interesting thing about this game is its seperated into different generations you start off with one generation then your character gets married, you and your wife have kids and your children then take over the story and complete the game. This is the only rpg I've ever played that has this feature.this game also has a GBA version which is the same game with a few ...

  • Dated but Ancestral game

I've read that PS III and IV were the best of the older Phantasy Star series, and set groundbreaking examples in their time. PSIII has an internal save feature and a highly rated story line, as well as a complete inventory system and party selection ex-cetera. While I'll often rant about how older games like Marathon should not be passed up just because of outdated graphics, I did find it hard to get into this game because the towns look pretty much all the same, and were pretty limited compaired to the kind of movement and variety available today. And since mine didn't come with a manual, I have to work to understand the menu system. After that though, the game unfolds. It really is an interesting story, with many different generations playing to save the world (not ours), and interesting ...

  • Phantasy Star III, Generations of Doom

I bought Phantasy Star III as my second Phantasy Star game. I bought a sega genesis platform just so I could get PSII and PSIII. The original Phantasy Star was unique in its time. It was truly the original RPG game (role playing game). It borrowed elements (creatures)of Star Wars and Dune and wove an original but classic sci-fi/fantasy story. It was like an anime comic book story that you had to play out navigating caves, mazes, and horrific creatures and villians. PSIII also borrows from the BattleStar Galactica theme as it occurs on spaceships escaping from the Planet Palma of the Algo system after it exploded. The space ships have large atmospheric enclosed terrains that you explore and carry out your quests through several generations of your family tree. After playing all the ...

  • Phantasy Star 3

Phantasy STar 3 starts out with your future wife being kidnapped. You then escape the castle to find her and the story begins there but the story only gets good once you get your 2nd member in the team, which is only 10-15min. of gameplay away. You have to grind(level up) to get to this android chick though or you'll be eliminated before you do. The story takes off once you reach the " i saw a laya at a lake". Items remain the same, the art is a change from the previous Phantasy Star games. And the Menu is also a change. These changes may be somewhat of a downer but, once you get a hang of it , it's not so bad. The saving game is the same as PS2 as you have to go to a house to talk to a lady to save and pay a fee(rest). Would recommend to hardcore Phantasy Star fans and once looking ...

  • Great Product

I've been looking for an older rpg to sink my teeth into, thanks for providing me with such. The only problem with the game (which is probably more my old tv than anything) is that when the game is playing, there seems to be....I don't know how to describe it....waves of pixels going accross the screen that can be kind of annoying, but after ten minutes of playing the game I've gotten used to it, so thanks for the game.
