Refurb comes with issues
I had a 'new' version of this gps but was stolen out of my car (it was hidden). I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I figured I'd get a 'refurb' type. I do like the big screen but this item has some issues. First, the volume is at it's highest yet, I can barely hear the 'voice' giving directions. I've tried to figure out the cause but to no avail. Second, there is some 'lag' with this when giving directions or looking at the map. There have been a few times where it was so slow, I missed a turn. I did purchase the optional 'backup' camera for this gps from a different vendor and i do like it thought it too, lags when in reverse but otherwise it's fine.I had a 'new' version of this gps but was stolen out of my car (it was hidden). The screen isn't very set sative to touch you almost have to poke it to get it to reconuze touch responses, and there are no mapupdates for it on the website, and itdoesnt e 'em know what side of the road certain places are, it could say that something g is on the right,an d WTF? Good except for Bluetooth
Good Bluetooth features however the sound quality of the Bluetooth is poor receiving and transmitting. Also, when I bring up a destination or a POI that shows a phone number, I cannot dial that number off the screen. I have to go back to the keypad... very annoying. Navigation seems okay. Handy features such as a large speed limit display and your own adjustable speed alert, highway and city. Turn instructions are not too intrusive and I do not miss the "recalculating, recalculating" of my previous GPS. Touch screen could be a bit more sensitive. OneTouch feature very handy. I have used Magellan GPS for years and have never had any major problem. It seems they improve every year the battery life. Because it has 7" screen reading is very easy and adapter stand works in the area I have placed. Using the find feature and tracking feature makes it easy to find your way home. Has assisted me getting in and around traffic & construction areas with easy. That's worth it's weight in gold.I have used Magellan GPS for years and have never had any major problem.
