Notes
The recording era of 1939 to 1941 saw Benny Goodman at perhaps his most productive, working with incredible guitarist Charlie Christian to create a jazz sextet the likes of which the genre had never seen before. Lionel Hampton, Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie and Cootie Williams flesh out the six-piece, and the combination of these titans of the genre changed jazz forever. • Had I listened to this CD before I would not have ordered it.

I bought this hoping to hear some old Goodman Sextet music, but this CD is not exactly what I was looking for. I liked a couple of the selections. It is great music, and the CD is good, although not hi fi by any means, it is just not what I wanted.
