HJP Sales was a pleasure to deal with. The item is in excellent condition and came as described by seller. Shipped immediately and arrived a few days before the estimated delivery time. The item was also reasonably priced considering its rarity. I would recommend HJP Sales and would buy from them again.

    Good value, nice package.

I’m giving this a 4/5 simply because this was released at the very cusp of the PS1 generation ending and as such, the disc for MGS1 is a PS1 Data disc- therefore you’re unable to save your progress unless you already own or decide to track down a PS1 memory card. Of course, they’re easy to find, and if you have a BWC PS3 then it won’t be an issue at all- however if you don’t plan on buying or collecting any additional PS1 games then it may not be worth the time and effort to get a PS1 memory card- especially if you already played MGS1 before. The baffling thing is that compilations on PS2 were not uncommon and PS1 games were ported to PS2 discs and were made compatible with the PS2 memory card on occasion ( like in both Mega Man collection. games for PS2) It looks great on your bookcase ...

  • "Great collection for one of the Greatest Series"

its a great deal. It does have some flaws though. MGS1 is on two PS1 discs, rather than porting it to a PS2 disc, meaning you'll need a PS1 memory card to play it. That can be annoying if you don't have one, those things aren't easy to come by for some people. Both MGS2 and 3 are the director's cut versions. That sounds cool right? The problem is that originally, MGS3 was 2 discs. The second disc had an online mode (which is shut down now anyway, so its not that big of a deal) a boss survival mode, Snake vs. Monkey (a minigame cross-over with 'Ape Escape') funny parody videos of the game, and the original 2 Metal Gears (Not Metal Gear Solids, but rather the two original games before Solid, that originally came out on the MSX in Japan only.) All these things are lost, which is a real ...

  • Great trilogy with cool look

Best collection of the first 3 mgs games. Playing these games has been an amazing eye opening experience. If you like cool things, smart things, or fun gameplay, you’ll love these must haves.

  • The Essential Collection is Great For New Fans

I purchased this collection for my friend who is new to the Metal Gear series. His first game of the series was Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 and he had expressed interest in playing the older games but did not know where to find them. This collection conveniently packages the first three games of the series together when one would otherwise have to scour the internet and game stores for each individual title (which are becoming increasingly rare). My only gripe about this collection is that it does not include the bonus materials that were released with certain special editions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 (Substance and Subsistence). I figured that if they were re-releasing the titles, the least thing that Konami could do would be to release the best of the best! Nonetheless, these games ...

  • Great Collection, but missing some features

It comes with what it says, but be warned that while the MGS3 disc is the Subsistence version, it's missing disc 2 so it doesn't include Secret Theater, Snake VS Monkey, or the original PSX games. MGS2 does still have the Skateboarding minigame intact, unlike the future MGS:HD Collection release in 2012
