Item listed as "very good". This is an accurate appraisal, due to a few very small rust spots on bottom of car. Shell in "excellent" condition. Item minimally wrapped in a single sheet of newspaper, along with another car. Seller is lucky that USPS apparently handled the box gently. Cars could easily have been abraded or worse. It is more expensive, but bubble wrap would have been a better choice. Seller combined shipping. Overall satisfactory transaction.

  • Great Pulling Locomotive

Whenever we discuss prewar American Flyer, we must set baselines for condition. Almost without exception, original AF wheels need replacing for proper operation. Its a good all-around engine and it pulled a nice array of freight & passenger cars if you are a set collector. For the operator, it should be a staple if you can find one in nice shape. It will negotiate AF 40" and Lionel 031 switches equally as it has moderate flange length, but may not like later Lionel postwar 027 switches or Super O Lionel. The roller length is ...

  • AF Prewar O

Currently picking up some prewar American Flyer O gauge engines so I have a broader representation. I had one of these missing too many parts, so this will replace it. Thanks

  • Worked as described

It lived up to the description. It ran well forward and reverse. Cosmetically was good for its age.
