Great Drum Pad - I highly recommend it ...

This is by far one of the best Percussion Pad's that I have owned. And I think I may have owned all of the ones that have produced up to 2015 including the Roland. Although it has AMAZING sounds I use it in the studio with BFD, Slate Drums, Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer. I also have loaded it with all of my vintage drum machine samples. It is highly responsive and the sound engine is great. Sometimes I run it through my bitcrusher module and I always run it through my tube pre to add a little bite. If it broke I would buy another one. If you are looking for a cheaper version of this I would go with the Avatar HXW PD705 Percussion Pad. Its around $250 and definitely worth it. Does not have all of the advance features of the the Alesis but it gets the job done.

  • Overall a great item!

Great sampler, first the sleek design n over all look is impressive. The multi color display and being able to trim whatever sample you load is a great feature. The pads are soft to the stick hit and the color bars are customizable and display the type of lighting you choose for your sample, ( i.e. colors will fade in at the beginning of your sample n fade out when done, or will strobe to the actual sound peaks of your sample and can be chained together with other pads for visual effects. 32 gb of internal storage are available or use of a thumb drive is possible or direct connection to a computer via usb cable works. Overall worth the money. I have the Roland spd-sx as well. And each have their pros n cons, but research both on youtube n it well help your deciding factor on what you need ...

  • Attention Non-drummers. This pad's for you!

Full disclosure-I'm not a drummer, so I'll direct this review towards other non-drummers. Been looking for a drum machine that I could create my own beats, patterns. The Strike does that and more. The looper is awesome. Overdubbing a snap. I haven't even begun to explore samples, kits, editing, sampling, there is just so much here. Setup a snap.Interfaces instantly with my computer and Logic X. I am having an issue with external triggers (bass pedal) and double triggering, but this may be due to some nerve damage in my legs. Heavy foot, I guess. Yeah, this pad is a bit pricey but the possibilities for a non-drummer such as myself are limitless. Support from Alesis has been great. As I said, it ain't cheap but as of right now, worth every penny.

  • Hi Hat Control Pedal issue

Bought the Alesis Strike Multi-pad to use as a mini drum kit for small gigs. I hadn't discovered that the programming to use a Hi Hat pedal trigger wasn't completed by Alesis so the HH trigger input on the unit is useless for my Roland FD-8 Hi Hat pedal. Alesis should put a warning about this in the literature to make it more visible to would be buyers to opt out. As it is, I'm in the boat with many others hoping Alesis will release an update to fix this someday.

  • Nicely designed multi pad sampler

The build quality of the Alesis Strike Multipad is great. This unit is highly customizable yet easy to program. Most of the built in kits are not to my taste but there’s a ton of built in samples and ample user kits slots to make your own kits.
