    Activates great - some trouble installing

    I made an image of the disk and put it onto a USB and installed Windows. The installation failed the first time, but using the same USB without changes it worked the second time. I put in the product key during installation and set it to automatically activate when connected to the internet and it did. Microsoft activated the key without me having to call them or do anything. However my Windows installation was corrupted and Windows update would not find any updates. Took me a lot of hours to troubleshoot and get Windows update to work and download updates. This was not an issue with the key, which is genuine, or the USB, but most likely with the original optical install media. However the disk looks real and came sealed, which leads me to believe that this was not the seller's fault and ...

    after install worked great for about a month then when all updated boom. get message saying key is not genuine need to buy a key or enter a new key code.     Some excellent apps, but many are superfluous.

    If Windows 7 met your needs, you won't find much here you'll want and like. That said, it's excellent in many respects, which use will show up. You may, like me, have to uninstall apps and unpin others you don't want. Edge is not even in the same class as Google Chrome or Firefox. I wouldn't pay more for this than I'd pay for Windows 7, which is less than the retail price. It's clear Microsoft values the time you spend online, and so tries every way possible to increase your online time, and, in particular, the time you spend on apps which report some basic things, not necessarily identifying you in particular, to MS servers.
