The Boogie Nights DVD platinum series includes two discs with extra footage that was not included in the original movie. With alternate scenes, outtakes, and interviews, the platinum edition provides fans with additional entertainment. The story follows up-and-coming adult movie star, Dirk Diggler, and how he learns what it means to have a family even when it is dysfunctional. Taken in by fame, money, women, and drugs, Diggler is almost killed during a drug deal and learns that easy fame and money is not always the best form of success.
