This is a small slim compact radio.. the speaker is pretty good.. the turning is a little touchy when you first turn it on... however after time it gets better..... for it's price... it is a nice small pocket radio... it is easy to use... this radio is small enough to take with you anywhere you think you will have the need to listen to the radio

Great promises not kept
This pocket radio has everything to (potentially) be the perfect travel companion. It's compact, easy a to handle, it has a very convenient digital clock/alarm clock and frequency display, as well as decent (in length) extensible antenna for increased reception. The volume/band/tuning/on-off switches are conveniently located on both sides as well as a convenient 5V DC power input for battery recharge. Volume and speaker's tone are excellent for the size (don't expect HI-FI sound) along with headset/earbuds jack. What's lacking, then? Two items: tuning reliability and battery life. The tuning is really annoying since affected by heavy drifting. I found a personal fix by slapping the unit a couple of times, while it is on; this allows the tuner oscillator to latch on for several hours. It ... The second shortcoming is about the battery usage - with a set of two AAA you'll get a 4-5 days w/moderate use (approx. 2 hrs/day). I guess the clock drains a lot resources and/or the overall circuitry just drains energy above average. I didn't try the unit in motion (walking, biking) since I assume the drifting will overload the experience, while it performs decently well if left alone. I'm mainly a NPR news listener, so for morning news while shaving in the next hotel room, the unit performs fairly decently, provided you have the battery charger near by and/or a replacement set of 2 AAA at reach.

Great little radio.
Very handy small radio with good reception and sound quality. I use it as a pocket AM radio. That isn't possible with FM bands though as the whip antenna is necessary for decent FM reception. AM tuning is precise and stable enough to ensure good reception.

Everything about this pocket radio is great except the dial tuning. I had forgotten how irritating it is to have the tuning change while you are trying to slip the radio in your shirt pocket.
