Both my kids absolutely love this movie! I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old, content is great for them and very entertaining.. personally, one of my favorite veggie tales movies to watch as well!!

Movie with "Baby" rating
I purchased this movie to watch with my granddaughter of age 9. My granddaughter was much more impressed with other animations like the "How to train your Dragon" series or "Moana". She likes to watch those movies over and over. This one will never again be watched. I think this movie is better suited for children less than 5. Why would somebody come up with characters in a movie which have no limbs to hold swords and tools?I purchased this movie to watch with my granddaughter of age 9. The Pirates who Don't Do Anything
My girls and I love the Veggies Tales series of stories, movies and music. We were a little disappointed in this movie. It didn't hold our interest. If my girls were older boys who were interested in the Pirate craze then this movie might get an excellent rating from this reviewer. The quality of the movie were good, the story line was a stretch. My children aren't exposed to much violence on TV so the fight/battle scenes were a too much for them to watch and that is when we turned off the movie. The message about everyone can make a difference and be a hero in someone's life. You don't have to be a Pirate who doesn't do anything but watch TV and eat cheese curls. If you love your veggies...
We bought this movie because we have loved Veggie Tales from the first video. I have to admit to being just slightly disappointed after watching this for the first time. It has Larry, Pa Grape, and Mr. Lunt, but I thought it was different from their previous work in several ways. First off, it seems that they held back somewhat on the zaniness. Secondly, instead of a biblical lesson that is presented in a way that kids can't miss it, the lesson is "Heroes are those that do what's right even when it is hard." It is inserted in a way that some kids could miss it altogether and there is no mention of God anywhere in the video which I felt made the "what's right" pretty weak since as Christians "what's right" would be what God wants us to ... There is symbolism in place of "the King" who of course to the princess and prince are "my father," but for any kid not in high school, it is a stretch. Finally, if you have preschoolers like I do, they might find the vicious cheese curls and rock monsters scary the first time through. In Jonah, they purposefully made the whale not scary looking. I thought the cheese curls were a little much for a young audience. If you haven't seen "Jonah- A Veggie Tales Movie," then I highly recommend you find it instead. If you already own that one and are looking to add to your collection, this isn't bad.

My son loves pirates, and he really enjoys this movie. Can never go wrong with veggie tales I know that my kids are watching something that has a meaningful message, and that is appropriate.
