    Nothing pretentious or elitists in these pages, but you will find Truth.

    Brennan Manning provides a raw, straight from (and to) the heart presentation of who/what/where/how & why Christians are. Where we can be found (everywhere), how we are found (right where we are no matter how bad) and why we are found there. How that condition is no match for the Grace of God so abundantly...no...overwhelmingly available to EVERY man, woman and child until the day of Judgement. There is no haughtiness of 'proper church folk' here, only the unwavering message that God will meet you where you are and stay with you no matter how much you may struggle with the effort to understand the extent that He has gone to in order to make the way Home open to us, no matter how fallen we recognize ourselves to be, or how often.     Ragamuffin Christianity is the only way

    The absolutely life-changing nature of grace expounded on in this book was refreshing and revitalizing. God's love and mercy and grace are beautiful and Brennan rightly describes the christian who comes to Christ as one who has nothing worthwhile before God's grace. The chapter titles are innovative and sum up the simple beauty of each aspect of grace as Brennan reveals it to us. In the chapter "Something is Radically Wrong" Brennan describes how institutionalized christianity often expects those who come to the foot of the cross to come with some ability that should make the expectant repenter somehow worthy of the grace God gives him or her. The simple truth is that this view is wrong; God's grace is wonderfully unmerited, we have done nothing to deserve it, yet God gives it freely to ...

    Great Read!

    I read this book before...and I am reminded of the importance of understanding God's grace. I am comforted to know that we cannot earn grace...it is given to us as a result of God's love for us. Our works cannot earn it...we work as a result of our joyfulness...not out of obligation. We need to rest in His grace and the result of our love will shine through.

    The Gospel of Jesus Christ for ALL PEOPLE

    As a pastor who has ministered in both campus ministry and the local church I can tell you this book is truly life changing. I keep several copies on hand to give out to unchurched and dechurched people. Many have found their way to faith or back to faith by the open honesty of Brennan Manning's sharing and challenge to think outside the box of rigid morality and start embracing the grace of God. I'm currently having my entire congregation read this book as a prelude to discussions about radical hospitality.
